GEM seeks to participate in writing the universal periodic report (UPR) on Syria, as no recommendations were made on the rights of the LGBT community in Syria.
As stated by the Human Dignity Trust, (During its second UPR cycle in March, Syria did not receive any recommendations relating to LGBT rights),Weare at GEM would like to bridge this huge gap in defending the rights of the Syrian LGBTcommunity and provide data and research on them to advocate for our cause and deliver our voices

GEM is Led by Syrian LGBTQIA+ Human Rights Defenders, Activists, and Survivors/Victims/Refugees. the Guardians are dedicated to improving the lives of Syrian LGBTQIA+ people who experience discrimination/abuse on a regular basis due to their sexual orientation and/or gender identity in Syria and throughout the global Syrian diaspora.
