The Guardians of Equality Movement (GEM) issues policy papers on LGBTQIA+ issues from several perspectives: economy, social justice, political participation, public affairs, and the law.
These are brief documents in which the results and recommendations of research are presented to stakeholders including diplomatic parties, INGOs/NGOs/CSOs, donors, political parties, and GEM communities. The aim of our policy papers is to analyze large amounts of complex data/information in order to present a short, neutral summary of Syrian LGBTQIA+ issues. GEM releases policy papers based on research results, consultative sessions with LGBTQIA+ stakeholders, and direct Issue recommendations. These policy papers will contribute to advocating LGBTQIA+ rights at international and local levels, facilitating response to them through these recommendations and affecting laws in their favour.
