GEM has developed a strong capacity in emergency response, drawing on its experience in managing multiple local and regional emergencies. Leveraging our experience in the Syrian conflict one of the most volatile and complex conflicts since World War II GEM, as a survivor-led organization, is well-versed and accustomed to operating in emergency situations. This experience has become a default for most of our team members.
With teams stationed worldwide, across the region, and in all major Syrian cities, GEM maintains high levels of coordination and receives day-to-day updates from focal points in most Syrian cities and regions. Though officially a grassroots organization for only three years, GEM has successfully managed over five holistic emergency operations in response to major disasters and crises.
GEM remains constantly alert and prepared to respond to any emergency. Beyond immediate crisis response, we are dedicated to supporting recovery and building resilience in the aftermath of disasters. Our work goes beyond humanitarian aid; we also work on stabilization efforts that contribute to the well-being and long-term stability of our communities, which in turn enhances global security.
